Pennsylvania youth volunteer
screening requirements

Three separate clearances required for anyone with direct contact with children.

Pennsylvania imposes one of the broadest mandates in the country. Employees and volunteers with direct contact with children must obtain three distinct clearances, and organizations are expected to hold current copies on file. Renewal intervals apply, so a clearance obtained once is not a permanent answer.

What to keep on file

Pennsylvania State Police criminal history check
Pennsylvania child abuse history clearance
FBI fingerprint check (for anyone not a continuous PA resident for 10 years)
